Welcome to Blue Tulip Design! We specialize in unique wedding invitations and other special event stationery. We are located in Zeeland, Michigan.

Hi! My name is Martha, and I have always loved drawing and crafting things myself. After years of making scrapbooks, cards, invitations and programs for friends and family, I decided to share my love of paper with the world and started Blue Tulip Design. I live in a small town with my 2 young sons, a wonderfully supportive husband (whom I remarry in almost all of my sample invitations), a cockatiel named Lucky and our little Pitbull/Corgi (I know, what a pairing!) dog Scout. I am fortunate to have my sister-in-law and a close friend to pitch in when things get busy, but otherwise it's a one-woman show. :)

I am drawn to things that evoke a certain feeling in the person who views them. I love old fonts, letterpress, vintage advertising posters and old floral fabrics, rich satin ribbons, tattoos, and deconstructed designs. Some of my favorite looks are old-school glamour, 1940/50s pin-up style, with an edge (like Betty Paige), cool modern with a vintage twist (like luxe satin ribbons and fresh designs paired with more vintage patterns), low-key elegance that speaks of easy-going confidence, just like I imagine the people who like them to embody!

I also love to make things that are sweet but with a touch of punk, like me! ;) Let's face it, not every bride loves lace and pearls! But I believe there's a way you can still have an elegant feel in your wedding without disowning your punk side. ;)

I really enjoy being a part of people's special occasions. I don't take it lightly when someone entrusts me with an aspect of their life. When you send out a product I've made, it is a representation of yourself as well as me, and it should reflect your unique personal tastes. But you probably know that already. If you were a generic personality, you'd just buy something generic off a store shelf instead of coming here!

If you see a design you really like, but the price isn't within your budget, convo me! There may be something we can do, with different papers or substitutions to bring a similar look into your budget.
